RELATED PROJECTS
Trees4Adapt is a Horizon Europe project that develops tree‑based solutions to strengthen Europe’s resilience to climate change while supporting biodiversity. Working across Europe’s boreal, temperate, and Mediterranean regions, the project gathers new scientific evidence on how climate and biodiversity risks interact, and uses this knowledge to create practical tools for decision‑makers. What sets Trees4Adapt apart is its co‑creation approach: stakeholders at local, national, and EU levels help shape solutions from the outset, ensuring they are relevant and usable in real‑world settings. Ultimately, Trees4Adapt aims to unlock the full potential of trees as nature‑based solutions for a greener, more prepared Europe.”
DIGI4ECO is a Horizon Europe project that harnesses digital innovation to advance the monitoring and restoration of marine ecosystems and biodiversity, particularly in fishery-depleted areas. The project builds a Digital Twin-sustained 4D ecological monitoring system, drawing on past, present, and future biological and oceanographic data — including underused “sleeping” datasets gathered by sensors and underwater cameras — to make marine knowledge accessible to all. What sets DIGI4ECO apart is its integration of advanced technologies such as autonomous underwater vehicles, robotics, and real-time data platforms to track ecosystem recovery and inform the regulation of human activities at sea. Ultimately, DIGI4ECO aims to support evidence-based marine restoration and sustainable blue-economy growth across Europe.
STORCITO is a Horizon Europe project that empowers rural communities across Europe to lead the transition toward climate neutrality through technical, social, and organizational innovation. Addressing the unique challenges of rural areas—which house one-third of the EU population and critical natural resources—the project focuses on three key pillars: sustainable wildfire prevention, the transition to clean energy systems, and the development of inclusive, climate-neutral mobility. What sets STORCITO apart is its locally adapted approach, testing customized solutions across four major European climate zones—Atlantic, Mediterranean, Continental, and Boreal—to ensure they meet the specific environmental and social needs of diverse regions. Ultimately, STORCITO aims to create a holistic framework for rural development, fostering long-term resilience and ensuring that nature, technology, and people thrive together in a greener Europe.
